Abstract Submission

Call for Abstracts

Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the Book of Abstracts, exactly in the form they will be submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

Abstract Format

  1. Language: English
  2. Abstract text word limit: 300 words (names and affiliation details excluded)
  3. Suggested font: Tahoma, size 10 cpi
  4. Text justification: full
  5. Spacing between the title, the author(s) and the abstract text: Single
  6. Figures/Tables (2 images or one image and one table are allowed): Image (optional) in JPEG or PNG format Table/Chart/Graph (optional) in Excel or Word format.
  7. Abstract title: typed in UPPER CASE
  8. Surname(s) of the author(s): name(s) should be typed in lower case preceded by the first name(s) written in full.(e.g. John Smith)
  9. The presenting author’s name should be in bold.
  10. The affiliation details of all authors [department, institution/hospital, city/town, state (if relevant), and country] should be typed under the names, with the corresponding indices. The affiliations should NOT be mentioned in the abstract text.
  11. The abstract should be divided into the following categories, the titles being typed in lower case and in bold:
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Especially for Case Reports, the abstract can be divided in the following categories:

  • Introduction
  • Case Description
  • Lessons Learned
  • Conclusions
  1. The text may include standard abbreviations, tables, diagrams and photographs; as long as they stay within the page margins and that the total amount of words does not exceed the above-mentioned limit (300 words).
  2. Changes, additions or corrections will not be accepted after the abstract submission deadline.

You may submit your abstract online and complete all required fields. For any problem concerning the online submission, do not hesitate to contact the Professional Congress Organiser (PCO).

  • Epidemiology of cCMV and disease burden
  • Primary prevention and vaccines
  • Diagnosis and prognostic factors in pregnancy
  • Treatment in pregnancy
  • Prognostic markers in neonates
  • Treatment of neonates and children
  • Hearing loss in cCMV
  • Long-term outcomes in cCMV

Type of presentation

Selected abstracts will be presented as:

  • Oral Presentations
  • Poster Presentation (e-posters)

Please bear in mind that the final type of presentation, as well as the thematic stream, will be decided by the Scientific Committee President and the President of the Congress, after evaluation by the Abstract Reviewing Committee.

Remarks

  1. Deadline for abstracts submission is July 15th, 2022. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be accepted.
  2. A same presenting author is allowed to present a maximum of 3 abstracts and in order to present an abstract, at least the presenting author has to be registered to the Congress. In case the same author presents more than 3 abstracts, one of the co-authors should be registered additionally for the second abstract.
  3. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed according to the Abstract Reviewing Committee’s rulings. The person acting as corresponding author will be informed on the status of the submitted abstract (acceptance – rejection), its presentation type and then been asked to complete registration process. Abstracts for which registration process will not be completed by July 31st will be automatically withdrawn.
  4. If you wish to withdraw an abstract, please contact the Professional Congress Organizer before July 15th, 2022.
